An astigmatism is a common vision problem that can occur in children and adults. When the wearer moves the eye to look around, or blinks, the lens is designed to automatically realign itself into the correct place.

A newer option offered by Acuvue are the Oasys for astigmatism lenses. Like the Advance lenses, the Oasys lenses also feature Accelerated Stabilization Design. The lens is automatically properly repositioned should it move out of place. These lenses also feature the same Hydraclear technology. They can be worn continuously for six nights and seven days because they allow more oxygen to permeate the lens.

Eye exams and lenses for astigmatism are usually significantly more expensive than regular lenses and exams. Additional measurements are needed, and they are very precise, which takes the doctor longer. The lenses are more costly as well due to the way they are manufactured, but for most people, it is worth the extra money to have contact lenses for astigmatism that really work.
