Tools to automate marketing on Twitter were being greatly promoted several ago. It was considered that you could use Twitter as an effective way to grow a list of potential buyers for your products or services. However, how much of a bang for your buck do you get from any of these MLM marketing programs that were pushed at us to improve our gross sales? Today, we are going to be talking about Twitter marketing and if it is even worth it for you to get involved with it.
Anxious to increase my MLM prospecting system product sales, I went ahead and started Twitter marketing to create a large list of followers hoping to turn them into purchasers. I signed up for programs that promised to get me followers on Twitter and purchased software tools to help advertise my products. In all, I think I purchased about 8 software programs to help with my Twitter marketing venture.
I invested in a tool that would automatically follow people for me in an attempt to have them follow me back. Next there was the software that would un-follow those who were not following me. This would enable me to follow different individuals again to get them to follow me. Amongst other software I bought, there was one which automatically tweeted a blog post just as soon as it was posted to my blog. And when I began using all of these programs the results seemed to be amazing because they all did just what they said they would do. But as soon as it seemed I wasn’t making any money, my initial excitement was soon squashed. Daily I would post roughly ten blog entries knowing that they would then automatically be displayed on Twitter as well. Then I discovered a way to have all the posts done for me automatically, thinking that the more posts I would have the more people who would see them.
Okay, the following are my results: Utilizing this strategy over three years resulted in nearly 10,000 people following me on Twitter. And although you may think that is great, just wait. Also in the past three years I have had at least 15,000 of my blog posts that were promoting affiliate products posted to my Twitter account. Other than that, I did no other promotion for that blog, as a matter of fact I didn’t even ping the new blog entries to see how good Twitter was could be. Exactly how ‘good’ it was rapidly became apparent: after 3 years only two affiliate sales generated $46.74 plus a further $9.10 for Adsense. With only 2 – 4 visits every day originating from Twitter, perhaps this is not surprising.
Despite me employing software to make the job easier and gaining roughly 10,000 followers on Twitter, I still could not turn a decent profit using Twitter marketing for my blog. At the end of the day I’m now out of cash for the Twitter software tools I bought because my dollar return was so low. In conclusion, I cannot personally recommend using automatic software tools as an effective way of promoting on Twitter.
