The population is growing throughout the world and so is the population of older people. This presents many challenges to the nations, as they have to find out resources to meet the needs of aging population. The authorities are trying to keep up with the pace of growing numbers, but it poses a big challenge.
The countries are involved in preparing several models as there is very rapid increase in the numbers of the people, who are over 65 years. This increase poses challenges in terms of pension reforms and requires more resources to be put in to meet the challenges. However, these increasing numbers also indicate that there have been successful advances in medical and economic fields.

As the structure of families is changing, kids are seen not to be very supportive of the elderly members of the family. This is hurting the society as well. It needs to be assured that this age group gets the support of family, community as well as institutions to make their life easy and comfortable.
The positive aspect is that the health position of elderly people is improving. Older people are able to lead active life for long. They are more aware of the role of activity in daily life. Their style of living is changing, in terms of activity, as most of them now go for regular walks. The role of family becomes more important as this group needs to be cared for.
All the countries in the world are facing challenges as the number of elderly people is increasing constantly. The main burden is on the health and economic systems, which needs to be dealt in terms of disabilities and illnesses. This aging population is a big challenge for the health care as well economic systems.
