Tungsten Rings Are Not Worth The Pain

Tungsten products have been revealed to be made of material that can easily be broken when put in the wrong spot. This is something that is publicized by jewelers of being made of “quality material” when in reality they are just scamming you to get money in the pockets. Knowing that there are better quality wedding bands out on the market it angers me to see people fall into getting a tungsten ring because they are told it’s of “higher quality” than gold.

First of all tungsten rings are advertised as being very hard and resistive to damage. That is laughable because tungsten carbide is shown to be easily breakable in a number of videos that can easily be found on YouTube. If your tungsten wedding bands break and you were told the opposite by a person who told you it “never breaks” you would be mad and annoyed at the person who sold you the ring.

If you are deciding on something to get for a wedding ring, why would you even discuss Tungsten since it can shatter like glass if you drop it? Imagine it’s your wedding day and the ring bearer is presenting the bride and groom with your tungsten wedding ring when all of a sudden he accidentally trips and the rings break in half. It will result in a panic among your guests at the wedding because you will have no rings to wed the bride and groom.

Knowing that Tungsten can easily shatter, how do companies and jewelers continue to make these inferior products charging customers a ransom? It just leads you to go and have to pay money to someone to fix the ring but because it’s Tungsten if it breaks again you are going to have to keep paying to constantly fix your broken ring.

It is not worth it in my opinion to attain a tungsten wedding band. Taking all the criticisms people have about tungsten into account, it is not a hazard you and your significant other should take before you walk down the aisle. The high prices that jewelers and companies request for tungsten are just insane. Personally I would not be charged for a tungsten ring if I saw it at goodwill for a dollar. The bad craftsmanship and the inferior quality of a tungsten ring for their price are just unbelievable to me. Other metals like gold and platinum are materials to endorse for your wedding ring since they have been proven to be long lasting when faced with heavy damage.

Tungsten is overall a poor choice of material to use for a ring. Due to its structure, it doesn’t act like common ring metals like silver or gold, and thus cannot be expanded or shrunk if your fingers change in diameter over the course of your life! Even more of a risk, if you come across an accident and the ring needs to be removed in an emergency, you are more likely to come into danger removing it through force, as it cannot be taken off with traditional methods. What Is The February Birth Stone

In line with the Gregorian Calender, the February birth stone is Amethyst. Part of the ‘Water Bearer’ sign of Aquarius (Jan 21st – Feb 19th) this stone promotes healing and comes with a rich, historical meaning. This precious gem is also an important feature of Greek mythology.

According to record, a list was devised by the American National Association of Jewellers to assign a gemstone to every month. The list was created in Kansas City, Missouri, in early 1912. The list suffered a negative public reaction as it was seen as a purely commercial venture, although the list is still accepted today.

Found and extracted mainly in Brazil, South America and Zambia, Africa, Amethysts are part of the crystallized quartz (silicon dioxide) family. They are normally hexagonal in structure and comes in lilac, red and purple shades. The purple variety was historically associated with religion, penitence and mourning. Due to the complex nature of producing the color purple, the gem has since been linked to wealth, power and royalty.

This notable gem is attributed to healing headaches, arthritis, problems with the circulatory system, insomnia and most impressively, withdrawal of addiction. Amethyst comes from the Greek ‘Amethystos’ which translates as a remedy for drunkenness. Labeled the ‘Sobriety stone’, it is said to prevent drunken behaviour and even cure alcoholism. Drinking from an Amethyst cup is also attributed to good luck and shrewd business dealings.

According to legend, Bacchus the Greek god of wine was fed up of humans and proclaimed that the next one he came across would be fed to his tigers. Amethyst was the pretty mortal who was to feel the wrath of an angry god, casually making her way to pray to the goddess Diana. Diana could see what Bacchus was planning and tried to save the human by transforming her into a pillar of quartz. When Bacchus noticed what he had done he poured red wine on the pillar which turned her purple.

The largest amethyst known today is kept at the Natural History Museum in London, at 343 carats. Heating amethyst causes a change in color. In spite of the fact that there seems to be many sources of emeralds, decent quality gemstones are still difficult to get hold of at a good price. However, there are no equivalents to emerald, so if you like the best, you can expect to pay handsomely for it.
